Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, stated that his boss has no regrets supporting President Bola Tinubu over Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 presidential election.
He accused Atiku of lying about the selection process for his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, contradicting claims that Okowa was the top choice of a PDP committee. Olayinka asserted that Atiku ignored the party’s recommendation and chose his running mate independently. He also criticized Atiku for lacking integrity, especially during Ramadan, and questioned his commitment to the PDP, implying that his frequent party switches have hindered the party’s progress.
Olayinka emphasized that Wike stands by his decisions, just as Atiku should take responsibility for his own choices.
