Veteran broadcaster and diplomat, Dr. Christopher Kolade, has passed away at the age of 92. His family announced his peaceful passing on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, expressing gratitude for his life of faith and service. Born on December 28, 1932, in Erin-Oke, Osun State, Kolade was the son of an Anglican missionary. He attended Government College, Ibadan, and later earned his higher education at Fourah Bay College in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Kolade began his illustrious career in broadcasting, rising to become the Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation before moving into the corporate world as Chairman and Chief Executive of Cadbury Nigeria Plc. His tenure at Cadbury was marked by ethical leadership and reforms that strengthened corporate governance. He also served as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, where he earned respect for his diplomacy, integrity, and professionalism.
