Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has expelled a student, Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious for assaulting Dr. Chukwudi Okoye, a lecturer in the Department of Theatre and Film Studies.
The incident, which occurred after the lecturer interrupted her TikTok recording, gained widespread attention.
Following an investigation by the Student Disciplinary Committee, the university found her actions to be a gross violation of disciplinary regulations.
In an official letter dated February 13, 2025, and signed by the Acting Registrar, Mr. Victor I. Modebelu, the university confirmed her expulsion, which takes immediate effect. Precious has been directed to vacate the university premises and return any property belonging to the institution. This decision underscores UNIZIK’s commitment to maintaining discipline on campus.
