A Magistrate Court in Kano State has ordered the remand of a husband identified as Ali Suleiman accused of killing his wife, Maryam Nababa Badamasi, just two months after their wedding.

According to reports, Ali Suleiman was arraigned before the court on charges bordering on alleged culpable homicide.
The prosecution told the court that Suleiman allegedly killed his wife in a bid to gain access to her wealth, noting that the deceased came from a wealthy family.
Prosecuting counsel, Aisha Habibu Hassan, said the offence is a capital one and appealed to the court for more time to obtain legal advice on the matter.
Presiding magistrate, Sadiya Zakirai, granted the request and ordered that the defendant be remanded pending further legal advice and investigation into the case.
