Two Chinese, Policeman Killed in Abia Ambush; Others Rescued

Armed men ambushed a group of Chinese expatriates and their police escorts on April 4, 2025, in Agukwu-Amaya, Uturu, Isuikwuato LGA, Abia State, killing two expatriates—Mr. Quan and Mr. Cai—and Inspector Audu Saidu. The assailants also stole the officer’s rifle.

According to a statement by DSP Maureen Chinaka, the Abia State Police Command, in collaboration with the military and other agencies, launched a rescue operation that successfully saved four expatriates and two police officers. One expatriate and an officer sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at FMC Abakaliki.

Investigations are ongoing, and the Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, assured the public that the attackers will be brought to justice. He also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
