South African model Tshego Gaelae has made history by becoming the first Black woman to win the Mrs World pageant in Las Vegas.
She expressed her gratitude in an emotional Instagram post, thanking God and her supporters. Gaelae’s victory was celebrated by the Mrs South Africa organization, which praised her achievement as she took home the crown on the 40th anniversary of the pageant.
This win highlights the growing competition between South Africa and Nigeria in international beauty pageants, especially following Chidimma Adetshina’s historic runner-up position at Miss Universe 2024.
