According to reports, Thiago Silva has decided to rejoin former club Fluminense once his Chelsea contract expires this summer.

The seasoned defender recently announced his departure from Chelsea at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, marking the end of his four-year tenure at Stamford Bridge.
Amid speculations linking Silva to various clubs across Europe and Saudi Arabia, reports from Brazilian outlet Globo suggest that he has reached an agreement to return to Fluminense this summer.
In a display of respect, Fluminense has opted to withhold the announcement of the deal until Chelsea’s season concludes.
Meanwhile, Silva, who sustained an injury in last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa, faces a race against time to feature for Chelsea in their remaining fixtures against West Ham United, Nottingham Forest, and Bournemouth.
Silva is expected to formalize his contract with Fluminense during an upcoming trip to Rio de Janeiro.
His return to the club where he previously played from 2006 to 2009, before securing a move to AC Milan, marks a significant chapter in his career.
Having joined Chelsea on a free transfer in 2020 following the expiration of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain, Silva played a pivotal role in their triumphant Champions League campaign that season.
Throughout his tenure, Silva endeared himself to Chelsea supporters and provided valuable leadership within the team, particularly in nurturing the club’s young talent.
As Chelsea prepare for life without Silva, they have been linked with Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo, who is currently a free agent.
However, competition for the 26-year-old’s signature is fierce, with Newcastle United also expressing interest in acquiring his services.
