Unpleasant reaction greeted the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) announcement yesterday to restrict access ro bank account without Bank Verification Number (BVN) and National Identification Number (NIN] as Nigerians took to media to expressed their disappointment.
Social media influencer and commentator, Daniel Regha who shared his views on twitter on the CBN directiv tweeted, ‘The govt stressed Nigerians for absolutely nothing”.
According to Daniel, the BVN was introduced byvthe central Bank of “Nigeria to get help reduce illegal banking transactions, while the NIN-SIM linkage was to track bandits/criminals (reportedly), but till date none has produced meaningful results; People’s accounts are still being tampered with, and insecurity hasn’t reduced. The government stressed Nigerians for absolutely nothing”.
