Senator Mwadkwon  Visits Victims Of twom-Ajang Foron Attack, Calls On Security Agencies To Be More Proactive And Responsive

Former Senate Minority Leader and APC Senate Candidate for Plateau North, Senator Simon Mwadkwon, on Friday, 5th June 2026, visited victims of the recent Gwom-Ajang Foron attacks who sustained varying degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a health facility.

During the visit, Senator Mwadkwon went round the various wards to personally sympathize with the victims over the unprovoked attacks, which claimed eight lives and left many others seriously injured. He strongly condemned the attacks and called on security agencies to intensify their efforts by being more proactive, professional, and responsive in addressing attacks on innocent citizens and communities.

He lamented that many communities have become increasingly vulnerable, with criminal elements carrying out their activities with apparent impunity. Senator Mwadkwon further called on governments at all levels to demonstrate the necessary political will to end the persistent killings in Plateau State and other parts of the country, as well as tackle other forms of criminality threatening national security. He emphasized the need for the creation of State Police to reduce the insecurity bedevilling the Nation.

While sympathizing with families who lost their loved ones and wishing the injured victims a speedy recovery, he urged citizens to remain vigilant and security-conscious at all times. He also charged the nation’s military and other security agencies not to relent in their constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property, safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity, and maintaining law and order.

According to him, the continued occurrence of killings and other criminal activities is largely due to the failure to take decisive action against perpetrators, thereby creating an environment where crime appears attractive and rewarding.

As part of his intervention, Senator Mwadkwon provided financial assistance to the victims to help offset their medical bills and other related expenses that may constitute an additional burden on them and their families.

Speaking during the visit, the Village Head of Gwom-Ajang, who was present at the hospital, and Yakubu Dung Hwere, a health expert from the community, separately expressed appreciation to Senator Mwadkwon for identifying with them during their difficult time. They also commended him for the support extended to the victims and prayed for God’s abundant blessings upon him.

Senator Simon Mwadkwon was accompanied by the Director-General of his Campaign Directorate, Hon. Dalyop Mancha, Pharm. Ishaya Gyang; the Council Secretary of Jos North Local Government Council; and former Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Dantong.
