The UK criticizes Russia, stating that the election was not conducted in a manner that was considered free and fair.
Britain’s Foreign Minister, David Cameron, has rejected the initial results from Russia suggesting that Russian President Vladimir Putin has won re-election with ease.
“The polls have closed in Russia, following the illegal holding of elections on Ukrainian territory, a lack of choice for voters and no independent OSCE monitoring,”
“This is not what free and fair elections look like,” he said.
