A 32-year-old psychiatric patient at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital Enugu, Miss Nzubechi Igwe was said to have been allegedly raped by a hospital security staff, Mr. Kazeem, resulting in a pregnancy. Despite reporting the incident, the hospital reportedly showed no interest in investigating.
Her brother, Mr. Israel Igwe, discovered the pregnancy during the second trimester after conducting a test upon advice from hospital staff.
On January 15, 2025, Nzubechi was declared missing, with the hospital unable to account for her whereabouts. The family is seeking justice and urging authorities to intervene.
