Niger State Paolice Command has uncovered a child-trafficking syndicate leading to the rescue of a two-year-old girl and the arrest of eight suspects including abpastor. The discovery followed the earlier arrest of a woman, Victoria Chukwumezie, at Dikko Junction after she abducted and sold children. Acting on her confession, police traced the missing girl to Asaba, Delta State, where she had been transferred through a chain of buyers.
Investigations revealed that the child, Rahamat Mohammed, was stolen from Sabon-Wuse on October 2, 2025, and sold by Victoria to a woman in Abuja. The buyer, Rosemary, later resold her to Pastor Vincent Emmanuel for ₦2.8 million. The pastor then sold the child for ₦3.8 million to a London-based woman, Anthonia Nwabufor, who arranged for the child to be delivered to her mother in Asaba for onward transport to the UK.
So far, six children have been rescued from the syndicate’s network, with police confirming that eight suspects are now in custody. The investigation is still ongoing as the authorities continue to unravel the full scope of the trafficking operation and pursue additional accomplices connected to the child-stealing ring.
In a related development, the police also arrested three suspects involved in a robbery incident reported on November 20, 2025. The suspects — two scrap dealers and an accomplice — allegedly invaded a Suleja residence and stole valuables including a motorcycle and ATM cards. Further efforts are underway to apprehend another suspect identified as Faisal, who is believed to have arranged the robbery.
