The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has alleged that the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibom Ibas (retd.), is dismantling governance structures established by the suspended Governor, Siminialayi Fubara. PDP Chairman Nname Ewor criticized the state of emergency imposed by President Bola Tinubu, calling it unwarranted and unconstitutional.

The party also condemned former Rivers Head of Service, Dr. George Nwaeke, accusing him of spreading falsehoods against Fubara on behalf of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike. Ewor dismissed claims that Fubara was involved in the bombing of the House of Assembly and that he pledged support for Senator Bala Mohammed in the 2027 elections.
Additionally, retired Justice Miakpor Emiaso criticized Tinubu for allocating state funds to the Sole Administrator, calling the move unconstitutional. He warned that the president’s decision to suspend an elected governor sets a dangerous precedent for democracy. The PDP maintains that the allegations against Fubara are politically motivated attempts to discredit him.
