Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state have announced plans to affiliate the Oba Sikiru Adetona College of Governance with the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos.
Governor Abiodun made the announcement at the 90th birthday and 64th coronation anniversary thanksgiving of the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, CFR, held at the Cathedral Church of Our Saviour, Ita-Olowajoda-Ijasi, Ijebu-Ode on Sunday.
According to governor Abiodun, ” the aim is to train high-ranking government officials. Our permanent secretaries will be the inaugural students, benefiting from this laudable initiative.
We have appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to approve the school’s affiliation with NIPSS Kuru, a request he graciously endorsed”.
He said, “Oba Adetona’s reign stands as a monumental success, epitomising the ancestral heritage of the Ijebu people. His dedication to governance and education led to the establishment of the Oba Sikiru Adetona School of Governance, a pioneering institution in Sub-Saharan Africa, reflecting his enduring legacy of progress and development”.
