The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, has issued a stern warning to officers against misconduct and the misuse of firearms, emphasizing professionalism and public trust. Speaking during a visit to the Ilaro Area Command, Ogunlowo reminded officers that the police are not trained to kill and must never use firearms to intimidate the public.

He conveyed the Inspector General of Police’s directive mandating tactical officers to wear full uniforms during duty, with severe disciplinary actions for those found in mufti. Ogunlowo also addressed newly posted constables, urging them to maintain respect and decorum in their interactions with citizens.
Additionally, the CP instructed officers to properly maintain patrol vehicles and warned against reckless handling or misuse of police assets. The visit highlighted the command’s dedication to enhancing professionalism, discipline, and public safety.
