Francis Van-Lare, a Nigerian businessman, has refuted claims that his daughter, Suzette Chibuogu, was responsible for the suicide of her ex-husband, Dr. Ikenna Erinne, a U.S.-based cardiologist.
Dr. Erinne reportedly took his own life on January 26 after a confrontation with Suzette, during which he allegedly held her, their children, and a nanny at gunpoint for three hours.
Van-Lare claimed that the situation escalated when the nanny managed to escape and alert the police, and Erinne chose to end his life rather than face charges of kidnapping with a deadly weapon.
Van-Lare expressed sympathy for Erinne’s family but emphasized that his daughter was not to blame for his death, calling the incident tragic for everyone involved.
