Napoli superstar victor osimhen has uprightly told his club side that he wants to leave.
The African best player of the year, Victor Osimhen(25) has been very clear with his club side Napoli about his contract situation.
The serie A golden boot winner for 2022/2023 season Victor Osimhen has established himself as one of the most prolific goalscorer in European football during his time with Napoli in Serie A.
The Nigerian striker joined Napoli in 2020 and helped fire them to their first Scudetto since the days of Diego Maradona in 2022/23, scoring 31 goals in 39 games in all competitions for his club side.
While Napoli have largely struggled since that title triumph, Osimhen remains a man in demand. A beaten finalist at the Africa Cup of Nations in early 2024.
In December 2023, Osimhen signed a new contract with Napoli that runs until the end of the 2025/26 season.
That might seem a strange move for a player who looks to have achieved everything he can at the club and has since been eyeing up a possible move away from the club. Although,there was a good reason behind Osimhen’s decision to extend.
Not only did the new deal see Osimhen’s salary nearly double to a reported 10 million (euros)per season, the contract also contains a release clause, which is said to be between 120m and 130(euros respectively)
