The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), has reiterated the agency’s commitment to strengthening regulatory enforcement and ensuring that manufacturers, importers and distributors comply with established safety and quality standards as the Agency said 8t destroyed fake and substandard products worth an estimated N1.5 trillion over the past three years.

The Director-General of NAFDAC disclosed the figure while highlighting the agency’s efforts to combat the circulation of counterfeit and unwholesome products across Nigeria.
According to the agency, the destroyed products include items that posed potential risks to public health and were deemed unfit for consumption or use. The exercise forms part of NAFDAC’s ongoing efforts to protect Nigerians from dangerous and counterfeit products.
