The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, has condemned the prolonged abandonment of the Brass Modern Refinery project in Bayelsa State, calling it “unacceptable.”
During an inspection visit to Brass Local Government Area, Lokpobiri highlighted the Federal Government’s commitment to revitalizing vital oil and gas infrastructure, including the Ewa-Ama road and Brass Petroleum Products Terminal. He assured that these projects would be completed within President Bola Tinubu’s first two years in office.
Accompanied by Engr. Farouk Ahmed, CEO of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, Lokpobiri praised the patience and peaceful disposition of the host community, urging continued cooperation for regional development.
A community representative welcomed the visit, expressing optimism about the government’s renewed commitment to the project, which promises job creation and economic growth for Brass and the Niger Delta region.
