Twenty one local government chairmen in Rivers state have accused governor Sim Fubara of ordering the withholding of monthly statutory allocation to all local government chairmen in the State.

The Chairmen claimed Governor Sim that governor Fubara withheld the allocation of the LGAs since April and has also refused to convene the Joint Account Allocation Committee Meeting (JAAC) which is the prerequisite for the release and disbursement of funds between the state and LGAs.
Earlier, the 21 local government chairmen
had announced that they will not be leaving office after the expiration of their tenure in June.
local government chairmen claimed that, the recently amended law by the Rivers State House of Assembly empowers them to stay an additional six months in office and they will remain in office after the expiration of their tenure.
Some of the local government chairmen called on President Tinubu to intervene in the situation.
