Bishop Matthew Kukah has praised the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia (FUASK), Kaduna State, calling it a divine instrument for development.

Speaking in Abuja at the inauguration of the university’s Governing Council and Principal Officers, Kukah, who was appointed Chairman of the Council, emphasized that the institution would address 60% of Southern Kaduna’s challenges and propel the region forward.
Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, stated that the university aims to enhance technical and vocational education, strengthen STEM learning, and promote girl-child education. Plans include offering high-tech courses in applied sciences and establishing a College of Medicine.
Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, assured security for the institution, while Alausa confirmed that JAMB would include FUASK in its admission process, with NUC verification scheduled for April 7.
FUASK was formed after President Bola Tinubu directed the takeover and transformation of the privately-owned Nok University following its forfeiture to the federal government through an EFCC-led legal process. The move fulfills Tinubu’s promise to the people of Southern Kaduna.
