Two kidnappers, Salisu Abdullahi and Babangida Usman who were arrested in Kaduna recently, confessed their involvement in the kidnapping of two Reverend fathers.
According to one of the kidnappers, “The first Reverend Father we kidnapped , we went to his house with three guns at Kushemakaranta in Kaduna around 3am, he was alone in the house and he didn’t struggle with us. We took him into the bush and released him when he paid one million naira.
” The second reverend father ( Tony Bawa) was also taken from his house and we kept him in the bush for two weeks until his people paid 8 million ransom. We don’t kidnap women because they are the ones that go round to get money for the release of their kidnapped victims.
” I have participated in six kidnap operations and I have made 800,000 from them.
” The only victim we killed is Chinedu, we kidnapped him from his house, he lives in the same area with our leader. He was killed after paying 500,000 naira ransom because he fought with one of us. Our leader asked us to kill him.”
