A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State, led by Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa, has announced plans to form a new political alliance aimed at unseating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections. Inuwa, a former Secretary to the State Government and one-time APC governorship aspirant, revealed this during a stakeholders’ meeting held in Katsina. He stated that the movement is working with political heavyweights nationwide to establish a credible and dependable platform capable of effectively challenging the APC.

The meeting served to inform party members and supporters about the ongoing political realignments and the need for an alternative platform. Inuwa assured them that a final decision on the new coalition will be made by the end of June. He encouraged supporters to remain calm and committed, while urging all progressive-minded Nigerians to join the movement regardless of their current political affiliations. He emphasized that the goal is to restore credible leadership at both the state and national levels.
Inuwa also condemned the recent conduct of local elections in Katsina, claiming that nomination forms were selectively distributed only to government-approved candidates. He criticized both the PDP and APC for having similar internal party issues and stated that defections from one to the other offer no true solution. According to him, the loyalty of the electorate remains the coalition’s greatest strength, and he expressed confidence that with collective effort and divine help, the movement will succeed.
