Kaduna Governor Pledges Support for Poor and Vulnerable

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has committed to enhancing social intervention programs to better reach the poor and vulnerable. During a meeting with the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, he criticized the inefficiency of existing social registers, citing the rising poverty index despite numerous interventions.

To address financial exclusion, Sani signed an Executive Order on Financial Inclusion, leading to over 2.2 million new bank accounts in the state. His administration is also investing in skills acquisition and job creation through vocational centers and the remodelling of Panteka Market to support over 38,000 artisans.

The minister praised Sani’s inclusive governance, which has contributed to peace in Kaduna and attracted political defections to the ruling party.
