A Federal High Court in Abuja has prohibited the CBN from disbursing any additional financial allocations to the Rivers State Government until a legitimate appropriation act is enacted by a properly constituted House of Assembly

Justice Joyce Abdulmalik delivered her ruling on Wednesday in response to a lawsuit brought forth by the Rivers State House of Assembly, which is headed by Martins Amaewhule.
Justice Abdulmalik stated that Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s choice to submit the 2024 Appropriation Bill for Rivers State to a four-member Assembly, which was not properly constituted, should not be upheld.
