Former governor of Plateau State and elder statesman of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Da Jonah Jang, has congratulated the Party on the successful conduct of its primaries nationwide, especially in Plateau State, stating that the PDP had again demonstrated its commitment to democratic ideals and respect for the people’s mandate.

Da Jonah Jang described the conduct of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries as credible, transparent and democratic in contrast to with what he described as “results written in hotel rooms” by other political parties.
Jan stated this in a statement issued on Friday through his Media Consultant, Comrade Clinton Garuba.
According to the former governor, the smooth conduct of the primaries showed the party’s organisation, unity and commitment to internal democracy. “There is no doubt that the difference in approach, planning and execution as witnessed during the primary elections of the PDP and that of the other political party was like night and day,” he stated. Jang said the PDP allowed the wishes of its members to prevail through a transparent process. He alleged that some other parties resorted to imposition and impunity.

Jang also warned those parading themselves as factional members of the PDP in Plateau State to stop actions that could destabilise the party. He insisted that the PDP in Plateau remained united under the leadership of Chief Raymond Dabo.
In Plateau, Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs emerged as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.
