Injury Scare for iheanacho, Ndidi Ahead of AFCON 2023!

Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi are currently nursing injuries with about 11 days days to the start of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire.

Iheanacho has featured just once in Leceister City’s last seven games. The Super Eagles forward came on as a second half substitute in The Foxes one-all draw away at Ipswich on Boxing Day.

Reports suggests that the 27-years-old striker is currently nursing a muscle injury which might keep up out of the competition.

Ndidi on the other hand was not in the matchday squad as Leceister City started the new year with a 4-1 home win over Huddersfield in the English Championship.

Leicester City correspondent Owynn Palmer-Atkin confirmed that the midfielder picked up an injury before before the game.

Iheanacho and Ndidi are part of Jose Peseiro’s Super Eagles squad list for the competition with kicks-off on Jan 13.

Nigeria are grouped alongside host Cote D’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau and the team will start their campaign on January 14 against Guinea Bissau.
