INEC To Begin Display of Preliminary Voters Register in Gombe

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Gombe State has commenced the public display of the Preliminary Voters Register as part of its ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

The exercise, which begins on Wednesday, April 29, will run until Tuesday, May 5, 2026, across INEC offices in all eleven Local Government Areas of the state.

According to the Commission, the display is designed to give citizens—especially those who registered during the second phase of the CVR held between January 5 and April 17, 2026—the opportunity to verify their personal information on the register.

Residents are expected to visit designated INEC offices within their respective LGAs to confirm the accuracy of their details and report any discrepancies. The exercise also allows members of the public to object to the inclusion of names of individuals who may not be eligible to vote.

INEC stressed that the process is a crucial step in strengthening the credibility and transparency of the electoral system. The Commission urged all eligible registrants to take advantage of the window to ensure the voters register is accurate and reliable ahead of future elections.

The Public Affairs Officer in the state, Mohorret Bigun, who issued the notice on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, reiterated the Commission’s commitment to delivering a credible electoral process through a clean and verifiable register.
