The Imo State Police Command has arrested a landlord for shooting a boy named Paul, who had jumped into his compound to retrieve a football. The incident occurred on Monday at the Urban Secondary School field in Area N, World Bank Housing Estate, Owerri, when Paul and his schoolmates lost their ball to the neighboring property.

Upon entering the compound, Paul was shot in the waist, leaving him in critical pain. The police spokesperson, Henry Okoye, confirmed the arrest and ongoing investigation, while Paul is receiving treatment at a hospital. His guardian, Jonathan Odikanwa, expressed concern for his survival, stating that although an X-ray showed no bullet in his body, doctors were puzzled by his inability to pass bowel movements, necessitating surgery.
Paul, a JSS 1 student, has lived with the Odikanwa family for eight years. His guardian requested prayers for his recovery rather than escalating the issue at this time.
