Hilda Dokubo Criticizes Tinubu Over Rivers State Emergency Rule

Veteran Nollywood actress and politician, Hilda Dokubo, has condemned President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, accusing him of attempting to take control of the state’s economy.

Reacting to the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara and other officials, Dokubo expressed her outrage on Instagram, calling the move “shameless.” She questioned the justification for the emergency rule, insisting that the state had been peaceful for two years.

Using a reference to George Orwell’s Animal Farm, she implied that the President’s actions were dictatorial, urging him to “rein in his pigs.” Her criticism adds to the ongoing nationwide debate on the legitimacy of Tinubu’s decision.
