Speaking via Fabrizio Romano’s X handle on Tuesday, the Dutch international declined to reveal details about his earnings but clarified that “many fake news” had been shared about his pay over the years. He stressed that the numbers published in the media were “greatly exaggerated” and did not reflect reality.
The comments come amid Speculation intensified following claims in 2022 that the club owed him up to €18 million in deferred payments, sparking debates among fans and analysts about his loyalty and the club’s wage structure.
