FirstBank Launches Construction of Nigeria’s Tallest Building

FirstBank has begun constructing its new 40-story eco-friendly headquarters in Eko Atlantic City, set to be the tallest building in Nigeria. President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, described the project as a symbol of Nigeria’s economic strength and ambition.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu granted immediate approval for construction, praising FirstBank’s leadership in financial innovation. CEO Olusegun Alebiosu emphasized the building’s role in digital transformation, while Chairman Femi Otedola reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to growth and financial inclusion.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by top business and political figures, including Aliko Dangote, Bukola Saraki, and governors from Ogun and Ondo states, marking a historic milestone in Nigeria’s banking sector.
