Family Seeks Help as Labour Party Official Remains in Captivity One Month After Abduction

The family of Okasime Olowojoba, the Labour Party chairman for Ward I in Akoko-Edo LGA, remains in distress one month after his abduction along the Auchi-Igarra-Ibillo road near Sasaro.

Olowojoba was kidnapped on April 26, 2025, while traveling with his wife, children, and housemaid. Despite the kidnappers collecting over N5 million in ransom, he has not been released, and the family has not heard from the abductors in over a week.

Olowojoba’s brother, Omozame, shared that after paying N5.3 million, the kidnappers demanded an additional N30 million, then later N5 million more, claiming the first payment was only for “feeding.” The family, unable to raise further funds, is now pleading with the Edo State Government and security agencies for intervention. They are also appealing to the kidnappers to release Olowojoba, describing him as a struggling young man devoted to his family.
