In a meeting with Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, following terrorist attack on three schools in a community, one of the victims’s husband of Mrs. Rachael Alamu, principal of Community High School, Esiele, Oyo State, has appe to Governor Seyi Makinde to intensify efforts to secure the release of his wife and other abducted victims. Mrs. Alamu was among teachers, pupils and residents kidnapped when gunmen attacked schools and communities in Esiele and Yawota areas of Oriire LGA on Friday.

Earlier reports stated attackers stormed LA Primary School and Community Grammar School in Ahoro-Esiele, shooting sporadically. At least one teacher was killed and another beheaded in captivity, while several teachers and pupils were abducted.
The emotional husband expressed gratitude but urged urgent action. I’m the husband of the principal of Community High School, Esiele, who was kidnapped by gunmen. Our governor, we thank you. No way we can thank you that will be enough because we know your efforts since the incident occurred,” he said.
He added, “All our people being held captive by these people, please… don’t get tired, sir. It is my wife who they have been using to make videos being spread around. It is very disheartening and depressing.” Governor Makinde reportedly comforted him and assured him efforts were ongoing, while the distraught man broke down in tears, The PUNCH reports.
In earlier captivity videos, Mrs. Alamu pleaded: “Please I am here again to beg the government… to please help us and dialogue with this people,” adding, “The force they have used yesterday has caused us so much… one of us has been picked that they are going to kill him because government tried to help us by force.”
She also said, “We want you to call them and dialogue with them, so that our lives will be saved,” while teacher Mary Akanbi added, “We are pleading with Governor Seyi Makinde, please help us, negotiate with these people. Whatever they want, please give to them. We are all here; we the teachers and the students.”
