According to a recent report , the technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation has decided to appoint an indigenous manager as the next coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria. The same source reports that the Nigeria Football Federation has decided to appoint Emmanuel Amunike as the next manager of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Emmanuel Amunike is a former Super Eagles international. He made many appearances for the Nigerian national team during his professional football career.

Emmanuel Amunike has a lot of experience in African football. He served as the manager of the Nigerian under 17 team. It is important to point out that he has also managed the national team of Tanzania.
Reports also gathered that Finidi George will be a member of the Super Eagles coaching crew while Michael Nsien will be a member of the technical structure of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Emmanuel Amunike was a former Barcelona winger and may have won the race for the head coach position of the Super Eagles.
However, Amunike’s record with Egypt’s Misr Lel Makkasa and Zambia’s Zanaco left much to be desired.
The 53-year-old coach also fumbled when placed in charge of the Flying Eagles, failing to help the Nigeria U20 team qualify for the AFCON in 2017.
Aside from Amunike, USA U20 national team coach Michael Nsien, former Manchester City assistant manager Domenec Torrent, and Fortuna Sittard coach Danny Bruijs were all running to become the Super Eagles head coach.
