The Uyo Zonal Directorate of the EFCC has apprehended five Chinese nationals for suspected illegal mining activities in Ibiono, Akwa Ibom State.
The arrests, made on August 29 and September 10, 2024, involved illegal extraction of ilmenite, a titanium-iron oxide mineral.
Investigations are ongoing, with charges expected to follow.
