Customs intercept large quantities of food transported to Niger Republic

The joint border patrol team in Sokoto, known as Sector IV, has successfully intercepted large quantities of food being transported to Niger Republic, according to the Nigeria Customs Service (NSC).

According to Kolapo Oladeji, the coordinating comptroller, the trucks were seized by customs officers in the Kajji community along the Sokoto-Kebbi road. He mentioned that the loaded trucks containing food items were en route to the neighboring Niger Republic via the Kebbi border.

“We will leave no stone unturned to block food smuggling out of the country because of the current situation,” he said.
