Nigerian music stars Burna Boy and Tems have been tapped to play major roles in the soundtrack for the upcoming fantasy film Children of Blood and Bone. Tems will serve as the soundtrack’s executive producer and contribute three original songs, while Burna Boy has joined the project as its executive music consultant.
The film, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and based on Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel, features a star-studded cast led by Thuso Mbedu. Other notable actors include Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Regina King, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Cynthia Erivo, Damson Idris, Amandla Stenberg, Lashana Lynch, and Tosin Cole.
The soundtrack will also feature new music from Nigerian artists including Fireboy DML, BNXN, and Ayra Starr. Director Gina Prince-Bythewood said Burna Boy’s previous work on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack inspired his involvement, while praising Tems’ leadership on the music project
