ASUU Gives Federal Government One Month To Fulfil Commitments

Ten days after the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) began a tw9 weeks warning strike, the Uni9n through its prrsident, Chris Piwuna has announced that the strike has been suspended.

ASUU decision was made known  on Wednesday at a press conference in Abuja, directing members to resume work starting Thursday, engagements with government representatives during negotiations held last week after an emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the union held between October 21 and 22.

According to Piwuna, “NEC resolved to grant the government a one-month window to conclude the renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement and address all other outstanding issues.”
