Aregbesola Confident of ADC’s Victory in Osun 2026

Former Osun State Governor and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has expressed confidence that his party will win the 2026 governorship election in the state, claiming they already have divine support. He made the statement during a reception in Osogbo celebrating the 60th birthday of former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Najeem Salaam.

Aregbesola, who acknowledged the presence of the current Speaker Adewale Egbedun and Governor Ademola Adeleke’s representative, George Alabi, avoided direct political confrontation but stated his firm belief that God would favor the ADC in the upcoming elections. He also sang several songs predicting good fortune for the party in both the 2026 state and 2027 general elections.

In his remarks, Speaker Egbedun praised Salaam’s leadership during his tenure as Speaker between 2011 and 2018, describing him as a role model. Salaam, in turn, urged residents to embrace non-violent politics ahead of the polls, promising to continue advocating for peaceful and bitterness-free political engagement.
