APC Rejects Demand For President Tinubu To Resign Over Security Challenges Nigeria

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the demand by opposition parties and minority lawmakers in the House of Representatives for President Bola Tinubu to resign over the country’s security challenges s as unfair and politically driven.

Defended President Tinubu’s handling of the country’s challenges, the APC Director of Publicity, Bala Ibrahim in an interview with Th PUNCh argued that security and economic difficulties were not unique to Nigeria, noting that even developed countries face similar problems. He said Tinubu remained focused on improving security and rebuilding the economy.

Speaking at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, the Minority Leader of the House, Fred Agbedi, said Nigeria was facing one of its most difficult periods since the return to democracy in 1999. He pointed to continued attacks by criminal groups, rising poverty and increasing frustration among citizens.

The minority caucus urged President Tinubu to suspend political activities linked to the 2027 general election and focus fully on governance.

The lawmakers also proposed a six-month National Security and Economic Recovery Plan to address the country’s security and economic challenges.
