Justice Azuka, the representative of Onitsha North 1 Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, was found dead near the Second Niger Bridge by a joint security patrol.
Azuka had been kidnapped at gunpoint on December 24, 2024, while returning home for Christmas along Ugwunaobankpa Road in Onitsha.
The Anambra State Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the discovery of his decomposing body on February 6, 2025. Security operatives are continuing investigations and efforts to apprehend the suspects. Azuka, a Labour Party chieftain, recently reclaimed his mandate after a court nullified the victory of the initial PDP candidate, Douglas Egbuna.
