Air Peace Refutes Oshiomhole’s Extortion Claims, Seeks Airport CCTV Footage

Air Peace has firmly denied allegations made by Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who claimed that the airline extorted passengers and overbooked a flight, leading to public protest at the airport. In a detailed statement, the airline emphasized that no tickets were sold after the check-in deadline and that the flight in question departed with over 30 empty seats. The company insisted that its staff did not extort any passengers and called the former governor’s accusations “deliberate falsehood.”

The airline further accused Oshiomhole of disruptive behavior, stating he arrived late for the flight and caused a scene when informed he could not board. According to Air Peace, the senator jumped onto a baggage conveyor belt, blocked access to the terminal, and incited other passengers against the airline. They refuted his claim of fighting for fellow travelers, asserting he acted solely out of personal frustration over missing his flight.

In defense of their staff and company reputation, Air Peace demanded that the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) release CCTV footage showing Oshiomhole’s actions from the moment he arrived at the airport. The airline maintained that the senator’s conduct was not only violent and disruptive but also defamatory, calling for transparency to reveal the truth of the incident.
