Super Eagles players each could pocket about $35,000 (over N42 million) should they win the 2023 AFCON.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved a win-bonus of $5,000-a-match for each Super Eagles player at the 2023 AFCON, which kicks off in Cote d’Ivoire Saturday.
A draw will fetch a player half that amount, which is $2,500.
The Super Eagles will need to win seven matches to be champions of Africa 10 years since their last conquest in South Africa.
This payment does not include the percentage of the upgraded $7 million prize money for the AFCON champions the players will negotiate with the NFF.
It also does not take into account cash gifts the FGN and various state governments, organisations, companies and wealthy individuals will present to the victorious team, as was the case in 2013.
