The Hausa film industry known as Kannywood has been thrown into grief following the death of veteran actress Wasila Isma’il, who died at at the Federation of Muslim Women Associations of Nigeria Hospital, Kaduna.

Wasila’s dead was confirmed by her ex-husband, Al-Amin Chiroma in a social media post on Sunday.
“Innalillahi Wainna Ilaihirrajiun. Wasila Isma’il is dead. She d+ed at the Federation of Muslim Women Associations of Nigeria Hospital, Kaduna,” he wrote.
He added that she dead on Sunday, May 24, after a long battle with illness. The late actress is survived by her children.
Wasila Isma’il was a respected name in the Kannywood industry, known for her roles in several Hausa films over the years. She began her acting journey in 1998 with Jinin Masoya and gained widespread recognition in 1999 after starring in Wasila.
