Following their historic Afrobasket victory, President Bola Tinubu has rewarded each member of Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, with $100,000, a new apartment, and the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
Coaches of the team will also receive $50,000 each in recognition of their outstanding performance.
The gesture comes just a week after similar rewards were given to the Super Falcons, reinforcing the government’s commitment to celebrating sporting excellence.
