As part of a series of flag-off and the commissioning of projects to celebrate the second anniversary of governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto administration, the state governmend launched the Shagon Sauki (buy for less Shop) initiative.

Acvording to a post Governor Sokoto shared on X, “This initiative is designed to alleviate the economic strain on our citizens by providing essential commodities at subsidized rates. The first phase covers six local government areas, with plans to expand to all 23 in the near future.

“I want to express my deep gratitude to my brother, Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, whose visionary model inspired this effort. His presence at the launch reflects the spirit of inter-state solidarity and a shared purpose.

“This initiative is more than just a subsidy; it represents a commitment to economic dignity, targeted relief, and responsive governance for our civil servants, pensioners, and vulnerable households.
“Our administration remains dedicated to exploring all strategies that aim to provide support to our people”, Governor Sokoto stated.
