FG Finalises Evacuation Plans for Nigerians in War-Torn Israel and Iran

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the finalisation of emergency evacuation plans for Nigerians stranded in Israel and Iran due to the escalating conflict between the two nations. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, made this known in a statement issued by the ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, emphasizing Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to the safety and welfare of its citizens abroad. He urged Nigerians in the affected regions to comply with security guidelines and register with the nearest Nigerian mission.

Tuggar praised the Nigerian embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran for their proactive efforts in reaching out to citizens and ensuring clear communication amid the crisis. He assured that Nigeria is collaborating closely with international partners and local authorities to coordinate a safe and timely evacuation. The government’s immediate concern, he stressed, is the secure extraction of all Nigerians in danger zones while maintaining diplomatic channels for continued support.

In addition to the evacuation, the Nigerian government renewed its appeal for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Iran. Ambassador Tuggar called on all parties to embrace dialogue, uphold international humanitarian law, and prioritize civilian protection. He reaffirmed Nigeria’s longstanding support for peaceful conflict resolution and reiterated its role in promoting global and regional peace.
