TRCN Vows to Enhance Teaching Standards in Nigeria

The Federal Government has reiterated its commitment to improving education quality in Nigeria by focusing on creating a conducive learning environment and equipping teachers for better learning outcomes. This assurance was given by Dr. Ronke Soyombo, the newly appointed Registrar of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), during her assumption of office in Abuja.

Dr. Soyombo highlighted the TRCN’s plans to collaborate with key stakeholders to introduce technology-driven, student-centred initiatives. These efforts, aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, aim to leverage the skills of tech-savvy teachers to elevate educational standards. She stressed the importance of providing teachers with the necessary training to enhance classroom delivery through strategic technology use.

To ensure inclusivity, the TRCN will involve all teachers in its programmes and strengthen partnerships with teacher unions and service boards across states. Dr. Soyombo also pledged to improve teachers’ conditions of service, emphasizing the importance of supporting the profession to achieve quality education delivery nationwide.
