A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday at Dalemo, along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, where a tipper driving against traffic knocked down and killed a woman. The incident happened around 9:00 a.m. as the pedestrian was attempting to cross the expressway inbound Sango.
According to Mr. Adekunle Ajibade, the South-West Area Commander of the Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), the tipper was moving against traffic at the time of the collision. He condemned the driver’s reckless behavior and cautioned motorists to adhere strictly to traffic rules to avoid preventable deaths. Ajibade also urged pedestrians to exercise greater caution while crossing busy roads.
Following the accident, the vehicle was removed from the expressway to restore traffic flow, and the woman’s body was deposited at the Ifo General Hospital mortuary. Authorities continue to call for heightened vigilance among both drivers and pedestrians to ensure road safety.
